Epiphany Procession and Benediction
As usual during Epiphanytide, we held a procession and Benediction in the Crib especially for children.
We began by blessing chalk and marking the entrance from the Porters' Lodge to the Church: "20 C+M+B 13". Families can then take the chalk home to bless their own homes with the initials of the three Magi: "Christus Mansionem Benedicat".
The star led us to the manger, where the kings presented their gifts to the Child Jesus, present in the Blessed Sacrament:
There was a time of adoration, joining with Our Lady, St Joseph, the shepherds and the Magi:
Benediction was given:
Then the Blessed Sacrament was reposed and the image of the Bambino replaced:
Afterwards there was a tea party in the rather cramped conditions of the Guild Room. Next year, with the new Parish Centre, we will have a proper kitchen and servery and be able to spread ourselves more comfortably.
