Clothes appeal: Thank you

Over the last month we have been collecting clothes for Syrian refugees for this coming winter. The organisers of the appeal have written thus:

"A big THANK YOU to all those who donated clothes, time and financial support to the Winter collection for the Samara's Aid Appeal! With your help, we have reached an astounding amount of over 250 banana boxes and packages filled with aid (our goal was 100)!

Together with the other 125 collections in the UK, the Oxford community has contributed to 6 lorries of aid that will be travelling to Iraq and Syria this winter, clothing more than 22,000 displaced people. A big difference for many and a sign of hope for all.

Thank you for the support of the communities and parishes of Holy Rood and Our Lady of the Rosary, Blackfriars; St Aloysius and St Mary's the Virgin (Iffley). We would like to especially thank the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary that kindly hosted us during this collection.

Please check the website ( for further information about the appeals and the hospital projects and look forward to our next collection next year!"
